3 Reasons Why You Need a Birth Plan
We know birth is unpredictable.
You may have even heard: ‘toss your birth plan out the window.’
Even when birth doesn’t go to plan, you get to be in the driver’s seat.
1. You are the client
Whether you have private insurance, government assistance, or you're paying in cash, YOU ARE THE CLIENT. When you walk through a providers’ door or the hospital door, you are paying that service provider.
You have every right to have your preferences and your wishes, written down on a piece of paper, right?
2. You will learn your options
The process of creating your birth plan will introduce you to your options.

3. Your birth plan is a communication tool
In active labor, a lot of women tend to focus inward on managing pain from contractions.
The last thing you're going to want to do in that moment is repeat your wishes and preferences to every new person that may enter the labor and delivery room.
Let your birth plan do the talking!
